Tennis Courts
Tennis is a very popular game that has been around for hundreds of years. It was originally played on just clay or grass courts but the game has now evolved to incorporate hard concrete or asphalt services. Tennis game courts are very popular installations, especially on residential properties with ample outdoor space.
At Hardscapes Unlimited, we have experience with tennis court installation and have worked on properties in places like Plymouth, Middleboro, Wareham, West Wareham, and Rochester. Our team has also carried out residential and professional game court construction in areas like Assonett, Bourne, Halifax, Mashpee, and Marion. You can trust us to install a durable, easy-to-maintain court on your property.
Factors We Consider During Tennis Court Installation
We consider many different factors during tennis court installations to ensure it meets client requirements, without causing too much disruption to their property architecture. Here’s a look at what we consider:
- Amount of Space Available - Tennis courts are large installations that require some space. They are quite complex and require a good ground condition. Our team will assess your property to determine if we can safely install a durable tennis court on it. One of the first factors we consider is the space available because it’s not safe to play this game on a small, cramped court.
- Location and Ground Condition - If the ground is level and has good quality soil, we’ll have an easier time installing durable game court. Tennis courts shouldn’t be built on sloping terrain because that requires leveling, excavation, removing soil, and building retaining walls. That can add to your expense and make installing tennis courts much more difficult.
- Types of Materials - You can opt for grass, clay, concrete or carpet courts. Grass and clay courts are very difficult to maintain so we don’t recommend them to our residential clients. Asphalt, carpet, and concrete tennis courts perform well and can last for 20 to 30 years with proper maintenance.
Asphalt courts are more affordable and can be easy to maintain. However, it requires clear and easy access to the installation site. Concrete surfaces are much more durable and easier to install, but they can be more expensive. The hard surfaces are covered by an acrylic layer to provide some cushion for the impact. Versacourt is the latest surface option available to clients and it is suitable for all kinds of tennis game court locations. This high-performance surface is easy to install, maintain, and is very durable.
